Towards a Learning Organisation. Organisational Transformation as Exemplified by a Public Administration Unit
The monograph is a study of introducing the concept of a learning organisation in a public sector organisation. The actions presented are desirable rather than necessary from the stakeholders' point of view, which significantly affects the flexibility and feasibility of the concept. For this reason, the monograph is important in academic discourse, but above all it has a significant practical dimension.
The assumptions of a learning organisation have been implemented by numerous enterprises. There are instruments supporting this process and facilitating knowledge management in organisations; however, all this refers primarily to business and organisations operating on the market. The publication aims to show the process of implementing the principles of a learning organisation in a public sector organisation, which is a very important element of the business environment. It also attempts to describe processes that are still on. It does not give unequivocal recipes, but the authors hope that it will prove helpful in reforming public sector organisations. A sector undoubtedly requiring such reforms.
