Technologies and New Media in Education: Theory, Practice, Critique
The issue, whose editors are Joanna Madalińska-Michalak and Małgorzata Tryńska, is devoted to the growing role of technology in contemporary media education and offers an interdisciplinary overview of theory, practice and critical analysis. Among the topics covered are: an analysis of the impact of overcoming linguistic taboos on social communication, a description of research on Deaf people's use of the Internet, and a consideration of the role of RPGs in teaching communicative competence to students with ASD.
The articles also touch on topics in the implementation of webwriting principles in popular websites and different approaches to critical thinking training in the new media environment. One text is a discussion of methods of rhetorical criticism in teaching new media at university level. The issue on ‘Technologies and New Media in Education’ is addressed to researchers, teachers and students interested in the future of media education in the digital age.
