The articles published in the issue focus on the media and the fight against disinformation, and on politics and political leadership in selected European countries. Under the former topic, the authors undertake an analysis of the EU's system for combating disinformation, also including fact-checkers' recommendations on how to make anti-disinformation efforts more effective. A text on the Turkish media market, which is discussed in terms of the 2023 parliamentary and presidential campaigns, is situated in the same circle of topics.
Further papers address: gender equality issues in the European Union's Arctic policy, the difficulties of political leadership during the 2019–2024 presidency of Zuzana Čaputova in Slovakia, the technological competitiveness of the industrial processing of the Visegrad countries, and the challenges on the path to EU accession of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the UEFA Euro 2024 championship taking place this year, the issue also includes a text describing the European Union's commitment to ensuring security at football matches.
