Jubiläumsband enthält persönliche Erfahrungsberichte von 12 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern aus Deutschland, Polen, Tschechien, Litauen und der Slowakei. Sie alle waren in den 30 Jahren, die das Deutsche Historische Institut Warschau besteht, dort zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten tätig. Die Autorinnen und Autoren sind sich einig: Der Perspektivwechsel durch die institutsinternen Forschungsprojekte war eine Bereicherung. Sie schreiben von dialogischem Denken, der Schärfung ihrer interkulturellen Kompetenzen und neuen Forschungskontexten. Rückwirkend betrachtet sowie in Bezug auf spätere Arbeitsorte hat sich die Warschauer Perspektive immer wieder als ebenso wertvoll wie fruchtbar erwiesen.

Tom jubileuszowy zawiera wspomnienia 12 badaczy z Niemiec, Polski, ale także Czech, Słowacji i Litwy, zatrudnionych w Niemieckim Instytucie Historycznym w Warszawie na przestrzeni jego 30-letniej działalności. Autorzy i autorki tych relacji są zgodni: zmiana punktu widzenia związana z realizowaniem projektów badawczych w Instytucie była doświadczeniem bardzo wzbogacającym. Piszą o dialogicznym myśleniu, wyostrzeniu kompetencji interkulturowych, a także o nowych kontekstach projektów badawczych. Z perspektywy czasu i nowych miejsc warszawski punkt widzenia wielokrotnie okazywał się tyleż słuszny, co owocny.

Changing the Point of View: From the Experiences of the German Historical Institute Warsaw
This anniversary volume offers personal accounts from 12 scholars from Germany, Poland as well as the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Lithuania, employed at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw in various times over the period of the Institute’s 30 years of operation. The authors are unanimous: changing the point of view in the course of the research projects realized at the Institute was an enriching experience. They write about dialogical thinking, sharpening their intercultural competences, and new research contexts. Future involvements have often shown the Warsaw point of view to be both valid and fruitful.
